The Virtalent story so far.
We began as a small idea in Birmingham and have grown into one of the UK’s leading virtual assistant services. This is the journey we’ve taken and the values that have shaped us along the way.
Our first wins.
Joined NatWest’s Entrepreneurial Spark accelerator and earned early national press, including The Sunday Times. A small start, but momentum was building.
Gaining traction.
Virtalent began ranking on Google and attracting more customers. We hired our first VAs, moving beyond the founders doing client work themselves.
A turning point.
Our first internal hire freed us to focus on growth. Awards soon followed - including Young Achiever of the Year for Sam and Ellie and VA of the Year for Ellie.
Building momentum.
Expanded services into PA, marketing and business support. Recruitment became more selective, with fewer than 2% of applicants accepted.
Rapid expansion.
Remote work surged during the pandemic and demand doubled. Virtalent passed 100 five-star reviews, cementing our reputation for quality and reliability.
Scaling smart.
We doubled in size again, launched our bespoke client portal with exact-second billing and scaled operations without losing our culture.
Big names, bigger team.
Reached 200 VAs and began supporting major brands like a Formula 1 racing team and Lastminute.com. Established as the UK’s premium VA service.
Recognition and responsibility.
Sam and Ellie stepped back from daily operations as the team grew. We were shortlisted for national business awards and gained accreditations as a Living Wage and Cyber Essentials employer.
A decade of Virtalent.
Celebrated 10 years with record growth - 250 VAs, multi-million revenue and a 4.97/5 rating on Reviews.io.
