Samuel Wilson and Eleanor Bekalo launched Virtalent, based in Birmingham city centre, in July 2014 and, apart from being an immediate hit with the city business community, already have a number of awards and nominations under their belt.
This year they won Aston University’s nomination for the Santander Entrepreneurship Award 2015 and took home the NatWest and RBS Pitch Event prize at the launch of the Birmingham NatWest and Entrepreneurial Spark business accelerator in February, of which they are now a part of.
There were also finalists in the Baldwins Accountants Entrepreneurs Awards competition 2014 and one of the few UK Finalists in the Global Entrepreneur Awards 2014.
Now they’re all fired up for a busy summer which will see them looking to raise the next round of funding for their SEIS-registered company from the Birmingham investment community, employing more local staff and creating more jobs.

Virtalent matches businesses with hand-picked Virtual Assistants who carry out one-off projects or ongoing tasks remotely.
Prospective applicants must pass through a rigorous selection process and background checks before being selected by Virtalent. All tasks and projects are then overseen by each client’s dedicated Account Manager and the work is billed to the minute using a sophisticated time tracking portal, meaning that the support is not just affordable, but is of a very high standard.
